Founded in 1974 in Saint-Malo (France), Goëmar has spent 35 years researching marine biology and, in particular, algae, from which it has been extracting valuable molecules and agents to develop value-added products with agricultural applications, more specifically plant stimulation and protection products.
With sales of about €15 m, the Company is cementing its position as a leader in the marine biotechnology sector. It offers solutions for plant health and enjoys unique positioning due to: (i) the specific features of its offer, covering both plant stimulation (with a wide range of physio-activators) and plant protection (with a range of natural defense stimulants), (ii) a solid reputation due to its historical positioning in the market and (iii) a scientific approach focused on developing innovative products, as well as a recognized expertise in regulations and market authorization.
Under the concept of “Nature protecting Nature”, Goëmar consistently applies environmental and human health criteria in the formulation of its products from which toxic ingredients are excluded. These products are well-positioned to provide solutions to the agriculture sector, in the context of increasing regulation of agriculture entrants (fertilizers and pesticides) and a rising sensitivity of consumers to food safety and toxicity.
Goëmar’s focus on high value-added products is underpinned by a policy of innovation focusing on meeting the needs of the cash crops market, i.e. arboriculture, viticulture and vegetable farming.
Goëmar is a global player selling its products globally. France, where the Company is a clear leader, contributes to half of its sales.
